Two teams have won the Youth Enterprise contest jointly organised by Intel and the NSRCEL at IIM Bangalore and actively supported by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, the Department of Information Technology, Government of Karnataka. While one team won the prize for their exemplary work int hearea of providing local rural employment opportuniites through a job-exchange portal, the other won it for work in mitigating the financial risk farmers face due to weather and market variations. Each winning team won a cash prize of US$5,000 and a chance to participate in teh Intel Global Challenge at the University of California, Berkeley in November 2012. The winners are: 1.Rural Employment Opportunities: Mr.Anshul Pandey, BITS Hyderabad,Mr.Dharanidhar Dang, College of Engineering and Technologhy, Bhubaneswar, Mr.GauravJain, Sastra University, Delhi, Mr.Abhishek Gupta, NITK, Surathkal and Mr.Neetesh Hegde, NITK, Surathkal. 2.Mitigating Financial Risk for Farmers: Mr.Saurav Kumar, DCE DElhi, Mr.Nagaraj, IIT Delhi, Mr.Avik Dhupar, RVCE and Mr Suhas , RVCE.
