Many students prefer overseas to enrol for a film course rather than in our country since they are concernced about the high fees, inadequate infrastructure and accreditation status of several private film schools across the country. The International School of Film +Media (ISFM), Hyderabad, has for the first time introduced bachelor and masters courses in film, TV, media, acting, animation and VFX. ISFM's has a campus of 22 acres in Annapurna studio- complete with film studios, post-production facilities, classrooms and a private cinema- offers education in media.
It is said to be the largest film school in Asia. It is a non profit, privately managed film school that was founded by the Akkineni family in 2011. Acclaimed film personalities like Kamal Haasan, Mani Ratnam, Hema Malini, director Radhamohan, Cinematographer Preetha, Sonu Sood and Tabu are part of the advisory board for the school.
