Manipal counseling begins today

Kochi:Manipal University invites candidates whose ranks are included in the counselling schedule for Counselling  2010.  Please go through the following instructions:  Around 5000 students are called for the counseling.

= Candidates should ensure that they fulfill the eligibility requirements given in page no. 12-14 of the prospectus 2010.

= The physical presence of the candidate at the counselling is mandatory. If a candidate is prevented by unavoidable circumstances from being physically present for the counselling, he/she may authorise another individual to represent him/her at the counselling.  This representative must carry the authorization.

= Only the candidate/representative will be allowed into the counselling hall.  Candidate should sign the attendance register to mark their presence and fill the registration forms available at the registration counter.

= Candidates will be called as per their ENAT 2010 rank for biometrics and document verification.  Successful candidates will be allotted seats according to their rank and number of seats available.  Such candidates should submit their original documents and pay the first year fees at the counselling.  Request for extension of dates for payment of fees or submission of original documents will not be entertained under any circumstances.

= Absence of the candidate or his/her representative at the indicated reporting time and date will result in the instantaneous forfeiture of any claim for a seat.

= The choice of course made by the candidate/representative is final and binding and cannot be altered later under any circumstances.

= Admission Order and receipt/s for the payment made will be given to the candidate on completion of the admission process.

= Selected candidates should fill the State Bank of India account opening form for combo ID card.  The filled-in SBI account opening form should be submitted at the SBI counter. The combo card will function as university photo identity card, access control card, ATM and debit card.  The combo card will not be issued if the account opening form is not submitted at the SBI counter.

= Candidates who require hostel facility should report to chief warden of the allotted campus for hostel enrollment.

= Candidates should report to the allotted college on or before the reporting date mentioned in the admission order.

SCHOLARSHIPS & FREESHIPS

FREESHIPS - Candidates admitted to MBBS course within the first 500 ranks and BDS, BE, BPharm courses within the first 1000 ranks in the respective ENAT merit list are offered 100% freeship. Such freeships are limited to 5% of the general category seats.

The freeship will cover only the course fee payable for the particular course of study. The candidate will however be required to pay the registration fee and caution deposit payable at the time of admission. The freeship will not cover the expenses such as hostel accommodation, books etc.

NOTE: The award of the freeship for the subsequent years will be based on the performance of the candidate in the university examinations.

AICTE SCHOLARSHIP - AICTE has introduced the scheme on tuition fee (course fees includes tuition and other fees) economically backward students to Bachelor's programmes in Engineering and Pharmacy. The proposed scheme will be applicable only to the students with parents' annual income (from all sources) less than Rs. 2.5 lakhs. Eligible candidates should produce the family income certificate by the concerned Teshildar or attested photocopy of the Income Tax return form at the counselling. Such scholarships are subject to availability and will not exceed 10% of the total intake.

NOTE: As the number of scholarship has been considered based on the intake of the particular BE branch, if any student changes the branch in the second year then he/she is not eligible for the scholarship.
