Random Number for Engineering Admissions in Tamil Nadu

Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission Committee (TNEA) declared that Random numbers for the single window Engineering Admissions will be released on Wednesday at Anna University.

In Tamil Nadu Single window Admission procedures, an Engineering aspiring candidate will be allotted seats based on cut off marks which is calculated with the marks get by a student in his XII in mathematics (out of 100), physics out of 50 and chemistry out of 50. Regarding other board students. CBSE students is concerned, the marks will be normalized to this level. There is a chance that more or less 500-600 students may have same cut off and they will be included in single batch for counseling session. This type of situation is solved by Anna University by following the order of criteria.

1.>Percentage of marks in Maths.

2.Percentage of marks in Physics.

3.Percentage of marks in the fourth optional subject (biology/ computer science).

4.Date of birth (elder student will be given preference)

5.A random number (higher value will be given preference).

Anna University sold on 2.1 lac applications, and about 1.75 lacs students have applied for counseling. Counseling commences from June 27, and about 5000 students in 8 batches will face the counseling in each day.
