KLEE - Kerala Law Entrance Examination Details

Introduction

Kerala Law Entrance Examination , for graduate and post-graduate courses in various government law colleges in Kerala, is conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Thiruvananthapuram. The admission to the various courses . i.e the 5 year L.L.B course, 3 year L.L.B course and 2 year L.L.M course, is based on the rank of the candidate in the entrance examination. For being eligible to appear for the exams a candidate has to fulfill certain eligibility criteria as notified by the entrance commissioner from time to time.

Eligibility For KLEE

The qualification requirement for Kerala Law Entrance exam is different for Bachelors� and Masters� programs.

  • For Five-Year LLB Course: Intermediates in any streams or equivalent from Kerala State Board or any other recognized Board can apply for the test. They should have scored 40% marks in the 10+2 examination.
  • For Three-Year LLB Course: A pass in graduation from any discipline with 40% aggregate marks is the pre-requisite criterion to attend the test.
  • For Two-Year LLM Course: Applicants should have completed the 3-year or 5-year LLB course from a law institute, which is approved by the UGC and Bar Council of India so as to be eligible to apply for the test.
Application Procedure for Kerala Law Entrance exam

Applicants can contact the Office of Commissioner for Entrance Examinations for procuring application forms along with prospectus. They can also obtain the same from the law institutes within Kerala by paying the application fee. Otherwise, they can download the same from the CEE website, www.cee-kerala.org. Appropriately filled in forms are required to be send to the CEE office prior to the last date. Applicants should also append necessary documents mentioned in the information brochure along with the forms.

Application fees: Rs. 600/- for General Category and Rs. 300/- for SC/ST Category aspirants.

Exam Pattern For KLEE

Kerala Law Entrance Examination is usually conducted on the date and time as notified by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations. The Examination usually consists of objective type questions and the time duration for the same is usually notified in the call letters sent to candidates. The candidates have to mark their responses in the OMR Answer sheet given to them using ball point pens or HB pencils.

Syllabus For KLEE

The LLB Entrance examination consists of objective type questions in General knowledge, English and Aptitude for Legal Studies. For LLM entrance, the questions are of the standard of LLB Examination with questions in Jurisprudence, Constitutional Law , Law of Crimes, Law of Contracts, Public International Law, Administrative Law, Law of property, Company Law, Interpretation of statues, Law of Torts
