Quality of present Education system - President of India

Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, the president of India spoke about the issue of “Brain Drain” that the bright students of our country are leaving to other countries for studying. To avoid this, the Honorable President said that the entire system needs overhauling – while speaking in the convocation address at Jamia Malia Islamia in New Delhi. He specifically spoke the present quality of education system in India. He said that there are 723 universities and more than 37000 colleges in India, but many of the Institutions are lacking in quality of Education, while comparing the present world class Education.

This is the reason; many of our students are forced to fly to other countries in search of quality in Education. President reflected his worry to lose our talent. He insisted, the need of upgrading the standard of education. He insisted the need of improving the infrastructure of class rooms and universities to a better standard. He also focuses the importance of need of training of the faculties. He also spoke out getting the talents from foreign nations.

Mukherjee reflected the very basic need of research in our country. He was worked in the issue of neglecting research in most of the sectors of higher education. He wanted the subjects to be changed into enquiry based and projects. He appreciated by quoting that our mission to, Mars is a testimony of our growing scientific interest.

HRD Minsiter Smriti Irani, in a poetic way said that while the engineering students engineer their own lives, they could also take to time to engineer the nation. She highlighted the need of the contribution of the journalists in developing in country. She highlighted the need of the just and helping to humanity attitude of law makers. She reflected her expectation that wherever Indian’s students so, they should carry Indian culture with their.

On the day of convocation at Jamia Mallia Islamia, 4280 degree and diplomas were awarded to the students, beside 162 gold medals to the toppers and 223 PhD degrees to research scholars. The centre for Physiotherapist and Rehabilitation science was inaugurated by the HRD minister.
