Ranking for Educational Institution of India

No doubt - India is the birth place of creative Education. Our contribution to various fields served a lot to the human society.

Even to-day, Indian students dominate much too various fields. It is obvious both state and central Government show due focus towards Education. Every politician is assuring to do their best to Education. Every individual in the country are bothering about Education. We can not call India as Educational backward country. Still, our institution did not show big progress in the ranking list to day why? Is it not a serious Issue? What is our contribution for this? Is it not our responsibility to set this right?

The results of 45 - world ranking list of 2014 is alarming. It is obvious 45 ranking survey is taking all possible parameters to conduct the survey. To mention specifically Indian Institute of Madras was in the position of 281 in the list in 2011 survey. It has come down in 322 in 2014. Indian Institute of technology, Chennai is one of the prestigious Educational Institution in the country. Of course, if we take in to consideration of the ranking among IIT’s in India, IIT(M) come fourth. An Institution which is in IV rank in India takes 322 ranking in the as survey is alarming.

What we lack regarding intellect and knowledge are concerned? Nothing, but why this scenario? Where our Education system is wrong fundamentally?

In 2007 IIT Madras was ranked in 489, in 2008 it is in 303, in 2009 in 284, in 2011 in 281, in 2012 in 312, in 2013 in 313 and now in 2014, it is 322 ranks. The most alarming fact here is that none of the Indian Institutions takes place with in the 200 ranks of the world list. This is viewed as a serious issue at the present scenario. The reasons for this drop in ranks are examined seriously by the Academicians.

Prof. A. Kalanidhi, the former Vice chancellor explained the research output seems to be dismal and there is large mismatch between the grant they receive and the innovations they produce. Prof. Bhaskar Ramamurthy highlighted the student faculty ratio as the reason. Responded that 14 Ph.D in take doubled now, but the faculty recruitment went up only 10 to 15 per centre.
