Era Natarajan wins Sahitya Academy Award for Children Literature

Era Natarajan has won the Sahitya Academy Award for children’s Literature. Natarajan exposed the depth and importance of Children’s Education. He say, it is a never ending process, He said that the award won by him will be dedicated to children it self. He wrote about 50 books, out of while 32 books are based on children. He wrote children books on science, science-fictions, easy learning of mathematics, a Braille book for visually challenged etc.

Natarajan is the one who wrote the first Braille Novel in Tamil besides books on short stories. He is little against in the concept that children’s book means short stories. He is of the opinion, that scientific thinking and creativity can be taught through story books meant for children.

This is the time we should remember the work of Azha. Valliappa, in 1950 formed “Kuzhandhai Ezhuthalar sangam” to encores’ the children – book writers. It is worth to mention have, as to state by Era. Natarajan that the emitting Personalities Thiru Vi Ka, Mu.Vardarasan, and Pavanan contributed a lot to children literature.

The remarkable works of the magazines exclusively meant for children “Gokulam” and “Ambuli Mama” are valuable in this field. It is the time, the writers of children book should be encouraged, and many young writers like Yoma Vasuki, Vizhiyan and Vishnupuram saravaran are coming forward to contribute than might to children.

Era. Natarajan’s book, “Vingana Vikramathithan’ won award which explains life style diseases 16000 copied have been sold, as on date and 8 reprints were completed. He indented to write a book on Darwin’s theory to children in simple language.
