Updated on: Wednesday, April 23, 2014

Completing Graduation without XII standard, Is it valid or Not? This is a million dollar question. IGNOU is the open university of Government of India. Which offers graduations for the students who missed their educational tracks and  complete graduations without XII. Some phenomena is followed by Tamil Nadu Open University also. The students used to enter into graduation after completing a Foundation program of the respective University.

Now, Madras High Court declared that Open University is valid. Earlier 9 candidates who cleaned Tamil Nadu Public service commission were not issued appointment orders because they had done degree courses without XII.

Justice D. Hari Paranthaman declared that the degree obtained by a candidate without a pass in XII is valid.  If he underwent a preparatory course or an entrance test conducted by the university offering Open University degrees. Because of this judgment; the candidates who have cleared Group I and Group II examination of TNPSC are benefited. Admission of these candidates is valid because they were admitted after they cleared an entrance examination or preparatory course by the university.
