The article published in The New Indian express explains about the status of foreign Lacs of Indian students are studying in abroad and contributing an estimated amount of Rs. 50,000 crores. This statement receives our attention, the simple reason is, our students are investing this much money by spending this much and this amount goes to the foreign treasury. At the same time less than a lac of foreign students are coming to India and the money what we are receiving is simply below Rs.1000 cores. The authors statistics, simply explores the drastic deference in this amount between what we contribute to abroad to what we receive them why this difference prevails, that to India which is known for Knowledge and Education since time immemorial.

This is a threat to India in terms of economics as well as academics point of view. To add the fuel to fire, those universities started opening campuses in Indian also, to increase the accessibility point of view. Is it a welcome shower or thunder of threat? From the Indians point of view this imbalance is a threat. To counter balance this issue we have to take a very large scale initiative.

The statistics given by the author reveals that there are 75,000 foreign students are studying in Indian Universities from Afghanistan, Sudan and USA. Pune University is the top in this list. Attracting 15% of the foreign students.  Most of the Indian Universities charge 1000 to 2000 USD per year. The money inflow to Indian Universities from foreign student is simply less than 1000 crores. But the number of outgoing students from India is around 8 lacs. But around Rs.50,000 crores goes to Canada and 150000 crores to us. Indian Government should take positive steps to stop this imbalance.
