Updated on: Friday, July 29, 2011

Students from the SC/ST categories who go abroad on Madhya Pradesh government's scholarships have now been liberated from the condition which says they must return after completing studies.

Now such students would be able work abroad.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan took this decision at the quarterly review meeting of the Tribal Welfare Department, official sources said.

Tribal Welfare Minister, Vijay Shah, brought up the issue, and the Chief Minister remarked that this condition was not only impractical, but also defeated the very purpose of the scholarship.

Chouhan said if the students could get job and earn well in the foreign country, then there was no harm in removing the condition, as such students earned fame for their home state in the process.
