Up to six Felix Scholarships will be offered to Indian graduates taking up places in October 2012 for (i) Taught postgraduate Master's courses (MSc, MSt, BCL, etc) of one or two academic years or (ii) Master's degrees by research (MPhil) of two academic years or (iii) Doctoral degrees by research (PhD/DPhil) of three academic years. Felix Scholarships are intended for scholars who would be unable, without financial assistance, to take up their place and who have not studied outside their home country. The scholarships cover 100% of university and college fees, a grant for living expenses, and flight (India-UK or UK-India ) at the start and end of your course. All subjects are covered by the scholarship.

Requirements:

Applicants should be Indian nationals ordinarily residents in India under the age of 30 on January 1, 2012. Candidates must have at least a first class Bachelor's degree from an Indian university or comparable institution. Exceptionally those with an upper second-class degree at the Bachelor's level may be considered if they hold a first class degree at the Master's level. Scholars are expected to return home after completing their studies. People who already hold degrees from outside India are not eligible to apply (unless it was gained while in receipt of a Felix Scholarship). To apply:

Apply at the same time as you apply to Oxford by selecting Felix Scholarships in the 'Funding Section' of the university's graduate application form. In order to be considered for this scholarship, you must have secured a place on your chosen programme of study by the expected final decision date (March 17, 2012). Candidates for the Felix Scholarships at Oxford should not complete the Felix application form. Instead they should check the Felix Scholarship box in the scholarships section of the university's application form for graduate study when applying for admission to their course. Submission:

January 6, 2012 for medical sciences and philosophy; January 20, 2012 for all other subjects.



Yousef Jameel Scholarship

The Yousef Jameel Scholarship is generously funded by Sheikh Yousef Abdul Latif Jameel. Two fully funded research scholarships are available to graduate students demonstrating exceptional academic merit and/or potential, commencing a course of study in the history of Islamic art at the Oxford University's faculty of oriental studies. The scholarship covers 100% of university and college fees, and a grant for living costs. Awards are made for the full duration of a student's fee liability for the agreed course.

Requirements:

Applicants from any country who are applying to a graduate course of study in the history of Islamic art at the university's faculty of oriental studies. Applicants should be intending to conduct research in any subject of Islamic art that the university's current staff are able to supervise at doctoral level; and/or whose research projects make use of the university's holdings in Islamic art (including, but without limitation, those in the Ashmolean Museum, the Bodleian Library, the Museum of the History of Science and the Pitt-Rivers Museum).

Preference will be given to DPhil students but funding may be available to candidates who are required to take the MPhil or MSt in Islamic art and archaeology before commencing their doctoral training. Candidates should be applying to start a new graduate course at Oxford.

This scholarship is open to candidates studying for degreebearing courses, with the exception of postgraduate certificate and postgraduate diploma courses.
