NIIT University scholar search programme

Updated on: Monday, December 26, 2011

NIITUniversity announced the NU Scholar Search Programme to help students secure early admission in the BTech programmes of the university on the basis of their performance in Xth and XIIth standard examinations, including a student and parent interaction process with the University.

Students appearing in Class XII boards in March/April 2012 and those who have passed in either 2010 or 2011 with physics, chemistry and mathematics (PCM); physics, chemistry and biology (PCB) or physics, chemistry, mathematics and biology (PCMB) with a minimum score of 60% in +2 are eligible to apply. Students with an aggregate of 80% and above in Class X can apply under early admission (EAD) mode. Those who with an aggregate of 70% or above in Xth standard can apply under early application (EAP) mode. Students who secure more than 70% in +2 need not appear for an entrance examination. However, students who have secured less than 70% in class XII need to submit their IIT/JEE, AIEEE or SAT rank/scores or appear for the NU entrance test ( NUET).

Students can also avail different levels of scholarships up to 100%, along with a monthly assistantship based on a combination of their Class X and Class XII scores.

NU initiates a student-centric admission process that relieves meritorious school students of this strain by facilitating their induction into BTech programmes on the basis of their performance in school, said P Rajendran, co-founder, NIIT University and chief operating officer, NIIT Limited.
