Scholarships for students from weaker section in J&K

A premier technological institute here said it would offer full scholarship to students from the weaker sections in various professional courses.
 
Kawa Institute of Management and Technology, a decade old institute will offer 100 per cent scholarships to students of economically weaker section of the society, the Chairman of the institute M S Katoch said.
 
The institute, recognised by the Jammu and Kashmir Government and affiliated to the University of Jammu will award scholarships for all of its professional courses.
 
The percentage of marks secured and the income of the family will be the parameters under consideration, for awarding a scholarship to the candidate, he said.
 
Another educational intuition from Chandigarh will award 21 scholarships, worth Rs one lakh each to the poor students from Kashmir valley on "merit-cum-means" basis.

"Scholarships worth Rs 21 lakh will be awarded on the spot to 21 needy students at scholarship-cum-admission mela to be organised by Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh tomorrow and day after," Dr Anshu Kataria, Chairman Aryans Group, said in a statement here.
 
He said the scholarships would be given purely on merit-cum-means basis.
 
Dr Kataria said scholarships would be given to students for pursuing MBA, PGDM, BBA, BCA and B Tech courses.
