Punjab announces 100 scholarships to poor students

To encourage meritorious students and students from poor families to pursue education even after class 10, the Punjab government will distribute over 100 scholarships and full fee concession to the diploma students studying in various Polytechnic colleges of the state.
Disclosing this here, an official spokesman said that the State Board of Technical Education and Industrial Training will distribute the scholarships worth Rs 12,000 each to students, whose family income is less than Rs 1.50 lakh per annum.
   
In addition to this, 40 students, whose family income is less than Rs one lakh per annum, will also be awarded full fee concession amounting to Rs 27,225 each, he added.
