The Herbert Thompson International Scholarship Competition is open to international students who have been offered a place as a full-time student on one of the MMus programmes in the School of Music. Two awards will be given. The successful candidates will be offered £5,000 towards their tuition fees (the overseas rate is £10,300).

Requirements:

Open only to applicants who are liable to pay academic fees at the international fee rate; applicants must hold at least a UK upper second-class honours degree or equivalent. Applicants whose first language is not English must also meet the School of Music's English language requirements. These awards are not open to individuals who have already been awarded a doctoral degree or equivalent. Scholarship applications from candidates who have not received a formal offer of a place at the university will not be considered.

Principal's indian masters scholarships

The Principal's Indian Masters Scholarships are offered by the University of Edinburgh to students from India for postgraduate Master's study in any subject. 15 Master's scholarships will be offered for the 2011-2012 academic session. Each scholarship will have a value of £3,000 each and will be tenable for one academic year. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit.

Requirements:

Students from India who are accepted for admission on a full-time basis for a postgraduate Master's programme of study at the University of Edinburgh. Applicants should have firmly accepted that offer or be intending to do so. Preference will be given to candidates who have not already had the opportunity to study in Scotland. Candidates must have, or expect to obtain, the overseas equivalent of a UK first-class honours degree.
