The global leader in innovation and technology, Panasonic will now offer an opportunity to students with a scholarship program. Having initiated successful scholarship programs in India since 2009, it invites participants from across top 100 engineering colleges to the 2012 Panasonic Scholarship Program. Participants can enroll till March 31.

 

Its aim is to provide scholarship opportunities to privately financed students from Asian countries who wish to pursue a master’s course in Japan, to offer financial assistance to foster highly educated experts who can contribute to the development of their countries in the 21st century, and to promote mutual friendship between the home countries of the students and Japan.

 

The students should meet eligibility requirements of being an Indian citizen, must be graduates or pending graduates (in science/technology), and must have a desire to master the Japanese language for understanding Japanese culture. Further details on the program and application forms can be obtained from Panasonic India website (www.panasonic.co.in) or by visiting Panasonic stalls at the upcoming Japan Educational Seminar in New Delhi and Bangalore on January 28 and January 30 respectively.

 

The students are selected on the basis of their academic results, GPA, TOEFL and extracurricular performance. After exhaustive online tests, group discussions and evaluations, the short listed candidates will be announced by May 15. The short-listed candidates are then interviewed by top management Panasonic Global Group of Companies, distinguished professors, the President of the Panasonic Scholarship Inc. Japan, and a representative from the Embassy of Japan will interview and evaluate each finalist. The chosen three final candidates will be entitled for a scholarship package from April 2012, as Panasonic Scholarship nominees. As part of the program, Panasonic shall support with 150,000 yen per month and tuition fee for the first year and for the subsequent two years, it will increase to 180,000 yen per month besides the tuition fee.
