MG varsity sets record in declaring results

Mahatma Gandhi University claimed on Wednesday that it had set a record in the State by declaring the results of the annual examinations of the conventional as well as new generation undergraduate programmes in unprecedented swiftness.

According to the university authorities, the results have all been announced by the month of June. The annual scheme of examinations came to a close in the university as early as March 2011 as the university had switched over to the Choice-Based Credit Semester System at the undergraduate level. Also, the era of ranks has faded out with the declaration of the current set of results.

The results of the Model I B.Sc., BA and B.Com. programmes, in which 21,860 students had appeared for the final examinations in March 2011, were announced in the third week of June itself.

In addition, the results of the new-generation programmes, including BBA, BBM, BA (communicative English), B.Sc.(aquaculture), B.Sc.(petrochemicals), BCA, B.Sc.(electronics), B.Sc. (bio-informatics), B.Sc.(computer science), B.Sc.(biotechnology), B.Sc.(microbiology), B.Sc.(IT), B.Sc.(biotechnology and botany), B.Sc.(industrial microbiology and zoology), BA, B.Sc., B.Com. and BTS vocational model II were also announced a month in advance than that of the previous year. A total of 10,536 students had appeared for these examinations, according to university sources.

Examination Controller Thomas John Mampra lauded the officials concerned for their commitment and teamwork, which enabled the examination wing to achieve the unique achievement.

The examinations are being monitored by the Syndicate Standing committee headed by V.N. Chandra Mohanan.
