1,840 postgraduate seats in Ernakulam district

Nearly 1, 840 seats are available for various postgraduate programmes offered by about 24 government, aided and unaided colleges affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University in Ernakulam district for the new academic year. Admissions to these colleges will be done through the centralised allotment process (CAP) to be conducted by the university.

In government colleges, all the seats will be filled through CAP. Sixty per cent seats in aided colleges run by backward communities will be available for CAP while 70 per cent seats will be available under the centralised allotment process in aided colleges run by forward communities. In unaided colleges, 50 per cent seats will be filled through CAP. Fifty per cent of the seats for unaided courses offered by aided colleges will also be filled through the centralised allotment process.

The college-wise break up of total number of seats for various postgraduate programmes in Ernakulam district (according to the university records): Al-Ameen College, Edathala (35); Aquinas College, Edakochi (30); Baselius Poulose II Catholicos College, Piravom (60); Bharata Mata College, Thrikkakara (35); Cochin College (47); Government College, Oliapuram (27); Government Sanskrit College, Thripunitura (15); MES College, Marampally (60); Maharajas College (261); Mar Athanasius College, Kothamangalam (820); Mar Thoma College for Women, Perumbavoor (20); Morning Star Home Science College, Angamali (32); Nirmala College, Muvattupuzha (97); Sacred Heart College, Thevara (149); SNM College, Maliankara (111); SSV College, Valayanchirangara (45); Sree Sankara College, Kalady (96); St. Albert's College (130); St. Paul's College, Kalamassery (102); St. Peter's College, Kolencherry (105); St. Teresa's College (104); St. Xavier's College for Women (42); U.C. College, Aluva (122); and RLV College of Music and Fine Arts, Thripunitura (76).

The allotment list will show the personal details of the candidate, the college and the course to which the candidate is allotted to and the fee to be remitted. A provisional allotment memo will be available on the university website (www.mguniversity.edu) and the candidate should take a printout of the same to be produced in the bank for remitting the required fee.

Candidates who remit the fee as per the first allotment within the prescribed time limit will have the facility to cancel or re-arrange their higher options before the second allotment during a specified period. After the first allotment, the options below the allotted one will automatically be removed from the option list of the candidate
