Admission to self-financing colleges under CMF irregular

Updated on: Wednesday, September 29, 2010

The government appointed Admission Supervisory Committee has found that admissions made to four medical colleges under Kerala Christian Professional College Management Federation were irregular and not transparent.

The committee headed by Justice P A Mohammed also said that admissions in Amala and Jublee Colleges in Thrissur, Mallanka College in Kolanchery and Pushpagiri College in Thiruvala were liable to be cancelled.

The committee issued notice to college management to explain their position within ten days, sources said.

The committee pointed out that Management reserved right to deny admission to any candidate.

Meanwhile, The Federation termed as 'unfair and arbitrary' the report of the committee and said the report was with ulterior motives.

The Federation and state government was on tug of war over admissions to these colleges. The federation was conducting its own entrance examination for admissions while many other college managements have entered into pact with government and follow the Commom Entrance Examination list for admission.
