AIPMT counselling to begin today

The first round of Counseling for the 15% All India Quota seats for MBBS/BDS in Government Institutions in the country will be held from 17th June, 2010 to 25th June, 2010 at Delhi (CHEB Building, Aiwan-E-Galib Marg, Opp. Mata Sundary College for Women, Kotla Road, Near: ITO, New Delhi-110 002), Mumbai (All India Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Haji Ali, K. Khadye Marg, Mahalaxmi, Mumbai), Kolkata (All India Institute of Hygiene & Public Health, 110, C.R. Avenue, Kolkata) and Chennai (National Institute of Sidha, Tambaram Santorium, Chennai).

The schedule of counseling is given at ic.in/medical_counselling.html. Candidates should be present at venue opted by them in their Application Form, at the time of commencement of allotment by personal appearance mentioned against their rank (9 am or 2 pm as the case may be).

A total of 2250 seats have been offered for allotment of which 2012 are for MBBS and 238 are for BDS. Of the 120 Medical Colleges included in the allotment, no seats have been offered in 3 Medical Colleges in the first round. The seats offered for Allotment State wise are as follows.

Assam- 63 ( 4 Colleges) ; Bihar – 65 (6) ; Chattisgarh- 37 (3) ; Chandigarh- 7 (1) ; Delhi- 94 (4) ; Goa-15 (1) ; Gujarat- 138 (6 ); Himachal Pradesh- 22 (2) ; Haryana- 22 (1) ; Jharkhand- 27 (3); Karnataka- 164 (10) ; Kerala- 128 (5) ; Meghalaya- 8 (1) ; Maharashtra- 301 (18) ; Manipur- 15 (1) ; Madhya Pradesh- 108 (6) ; Orissa- 54 (3) ; Punjab- 51 (3) ; Rajasthan- 90 (6) ; Tamil Nadu-262(15) ; Tripura- 15 (1) ; Uttar Pradesh- 132 (8) ; Uttarakhand- 30 (2) ; West Bengal- 164(9).

For BDS, the seat availability state wise is as follows.

Assam- 6 ( 1 College) ; Bihar – 6 (1) ; Chattisgarh- 15 (1) ; Delhi- 6 (1) ; Goa- 6 (1) ; Gujarat- 30 (2) ; Himachal Pradesh-9(1) ; Haryana- 9(1) ;Karnataka-16(2) ; Kerala-19 (3) ; Maharashtra- 36 (4) ; Madhya Pradesh-6 (1) ; Orissa- 3(1) ; Punjab- 12 (2) ; Puducherry- 6 (1) ; Rajasthan- 6 (1) ; Tamil Nadu-15(1) ; Uttar Pradesh- 10 (1) ; West Bengal- 22 (2).

Counseling will be held as per the Category Rank (UR/SC/ST/PH) only. Seats will be allotted as per the 2200 point Reservation Roster. OBC candidates should report for counseling as per their UR Category rank only.

Candidates without original certificates will not be allowed to participate in the counseling. Those appearing for allotment by personal appearance should bring the following documents in original along with attested copies of the documents for verification failing which they will not be allowed to participate in the allotment process:-

(i) Admit Cards of Preliminary & Final Exam issued by CBSE (ii) Rank letter issued by CBSE (iii) Date of Birth Certificate (if 10th Certificate does not bear the same) (iv) 10th Certificate (v) 12th Certificate (Provisional certificate of 10+2 is permissible for those candidates who had passed in the year 2010 only) (vi)12th Mark Sheet (vii) Two passport size photographs same as pasted on the application form. Candidate should also bring the following certificate, if applicable: (a) SC/ST Certificate issued by the competent authority (b) In case of  OBC candidate, the category and the subcategory mentioned in the certificate should tally with the Central list of OBC (c) Disability Certificate issued from a duly constituted and competent Medical Board.
