The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Thiruvananthapuram, has invited applications for admission to the five-year L.L.B. course offered at the government law colleges at Barton Hill, Thiruvananthapuram (80 seats), Ernakulam (80 seats) and Kozhikode (80 seats).

The entrance test will be held on July 11 at Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Thrissur and Kozhikode. The test will be of three-hour duration and consist of 200 objective type multiple choice questions on general knowledge (65 questions), English (65 questions), aptitude for legal studies (70 questions). Each correct response will be awarded three marks and one mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Eligibility: Those who have passed Higher Secondary / Plus Two / equivalent examination with minimum 40 per cent marks are eligible to apply. Applicants should have completed 17 years as on December 31. Applicants should be an Indian citizen of Kerala origin.

How to apply

There will be separate application forms for general candidates and those belonging to Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe communities. The application forms and prospectus can be downloaded from the website www.cee-kerala.org.

Application fee for general category is Rs.600 and for candidates belonging to SC/ ST communities is Rs.300. Candidates should submit the duly filled-in applications along with the prescribed fee, attested copies of relevant certificates to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Housing Board Buildings, Santhinagar, Thiruvananthapuram – 695001 by registered post so as to reach the addressee on or before June 19.

M.Tech. courses

Online applications are invited up to June 15 for admission to two-year fulltime M.Tech. programmes in various branches offered at the following engineering colleges:

Government College of Engineering, Sreekariyam, Thiruvananthapuram

M.Tech. degree in civil engineering. specialisations: geotechnical, structural, hydraulics, environment, traffic and transportation engineering. Total: 12 seats for each specialisation.

M.Tech. degree in mechanical engineering: specialisation in thermal Science (7 seats), machine design (12 seats), propulsion (12 seats), industrial engineering (7 seats)

M.Tech. degree in electrical engineering: specialisation in electrical mechanics (12 seats), power system (7 seats), control system (12 seats), guidance and navigational control (12 seats)

M.Tech. degree in electronics and communication engineering: specialisation in signal processing (18 seats), microwave and television engineering (12 seats), applied electronics and instrumentation (12 seats) M. Arch. (planning).

TKM College of Engineering, Kollam

M.Tech. degree in mechanical engineering: specialisation in industrial refrigeration and cryogenic engineering (18 seats).

M.Tech. degree in civil engineering: specialisation in structural engineering and construction management (18 seats).

Government Engineering College, Thrissur

M.Tech. degree in civil engineering: specialisation in environmental engineering (18 seats)

M.Tech. degree in mechanical engineering: specialisation in production engineering (18 seats)

M.Tech. degree in electrical engineering: specialisation in power systems (18 seats), chemical process control (18 seats).

Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, Kottayam

M.Tech. degree in mechanical engineering: specialisation in industrial engineering and management (18 seats), electrical and electronics - industrial drives and control (18 seats).Eligibility: BE/ B.Tech. degree holders in the relevant branch with at least 60 per cent marks or those who have passed AMIE/ AMIETE with at least 55 per cent marks in section B of the examination and have three years of professional experience. Candidates must have a valid GATE score.

Equivalency

Degree in Architecture (B.Arch.)/ civil engineering will be considered as equivalent for admission to Master of Planning (Housing)degree course.

Degree in civil, mechanical or chemical engineering will be considered as equivalent for admission to environmental engineering.

Graduates in applied electronics and instrumentation will be considered for admission to all specialisation in electronics and communication engineering branches.

Degree in instrumentation and control / electronics and bio-medical engineering / electronics and instrumentation / instrumentation engineering will be considered as equivalent for admission to applied electronics and instrumentation.

Application should be filled online by logging on to the websitewww.cet.ac.in. After submitting the application online, a print out of the filled in application should be taken and sent along with a demand draft of Rs.250 drawn in favour of the Principal, College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram, payable at Thiruvananthapuram from any nationalized bank with copies of relevant certificates and GATE scorecard so as to reach the addressee on or before June 18.
