Research admissions postponed

Updated on: Monday, March 08, 2010

Admission into the full time and part-time research programmes of Andhra University has been postponed. Admission notification should have been released in February but the AU administration is reportedly working out modalities on research admission and decided to put the process of hold. However there might not be an inordinate delay.

The administration has decided not to allow more than 10 scholars for full time programme to get admitted in an academic department. The practice with some departments is to admit 15 or more and it is becoming unwieldy when it comes to provide accomodation for them and an undesired large number is always a problem.

It is also decided to affect a steep rise in the fee for part-time research programme. All modalities are being worked out.
