Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Medical Entrance Examination

Introduction

The Amrita University for selecting the eligible candidates in the medicine programmes conducts Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Medical Entrance Examination. The aspirants who clear the test can get admissions in the different MBBS, BDS, and BAMS courses.They also carry out entrance test for the MD/MS and PG diploma medical courses. The world-renowned charitable or spiritual leader, Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, Amma, initiated the University. Students can avail the application forms in the month of April and the test will be held in May.

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Medical Entrance Examination Eligibility Criteria:

The aspirants for writing the exam are required to have passed the intermediate examination or equivalency from Science stream. It is compulsory that the candidate should have studied Physics and Chemistry in addition to Biology in 10+2 level. Aspirants need to secure an aggregate of 60% in the qualifying exam for applying the test. In addition, the candidate is required to have a first class in English in the Plus Two exam.

• MD/MS/PG Diploma: MBBS degree and completion of internship by 31st March, 2012
• MDS:BDS degree and completion of internship by 31st March, 2012
• M.Sc Nursing: Pass in B.Sc Nursing or B.Sc Hons Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc Nursing with not less than 55% marks Should be a registered Nurse with minimum one year experience.

Pattern for Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Medical Entrance Examination:

The exam pattern will be similar to the All India Medical Entrance Examination. All the questions will be of objective type. There will be questions on the science subjects in 10+2 level. For wrong answers, there will be negative marking.

Application Procedure for Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Medical Entrance Examination:

In order to obtain the forms for the examination, candidates can rely on the online as well as offline modes. Students can obtain the forms from the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences. It will also be available in the chosen branches of Federal Bank and Dhanalakshmi Bank. The candidate can also purchase applications either by post or on hand. By logging on to the official website of the University, candidates can apply online for the test. Candidates can attend the exam in any of the centers like Kochi, Coimbatore, Kollam, Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode.
