Parents - Children - China's Tradition and to-days laws

Updated on: Wednesday, July 03, 2013

According to the confucian text of 13th century respect to parents and elders is an important virtue.  Confucius spoke about an eight year old boy who sacrifices his blood to protect his parents from mosquito bite.  Now this tradition has become a forgotten issue, and children were not able to take care of their parents.

To solve this issue, the chinese Government made as law that sons and daughters should visit their parents more often and look after them.  It has become mandatory now.  The companies are ordered to grant 20 days of annual leave for everyone to taken care of their parents.
