Department of Printing and Media Engineering MIT organizing a two-day international conference

Department of Printing and Media Engineering, Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) is organizing a two-day international conference on advancements in print media - Print On 2013 from Wednesday. The event will provide opportunity for industry leaders and professionals in print media sector; in academic research as well as in commercial printing field to exchange views and information on progress in the area of printing technology.

The conference will speak about latest advancements in print solutions, green technology and packaging solutions giving an overall outlook on future scenario of integrated print environment. It will help participants to get acquainted on what's in and what's hot in the present day print world. It will also provide an opportunity to idealize possible implementation of allied fields into printing for commercial feasibility.

This will be also a unique occasion to exchange research experiences, establish and maintain personal and business relationships, and above all to improve the international cooperation and interaction. Today print media has rocketed into the modern, innovative and sophisticated 21st century with a new makeover into electronic print media taking over the responsibility to keep people informed, entertained and engaged about electronic media.

Print ON 2013 will attempt to evaluate impact of new electronic media on print media and furthermore try to capture pioneering trends and print solutions for ever shrinking global village. Green printing concept is moving beyond small applications to larger and diversified print applications. Government agencies are making mandates to purchase greener goods and services for an eco-friendly future, resulting in growth of green printing

Some of the speakers at the conference include Arved Huebler, director, Print and Media Technology, CUT, Germany, Ranesh Bajaj, managing director, Creed Engineers Pvt. Ltd., and Koji Ichikawa, senior technical manager, Fujifilm India Pvt Ltd, Haryana. Manipal University VC K Ram Narayan will inaugurate the conference. Sanat Hazara, technical director, Times of India will be the chief guest at the valedictory on Thursday.
