The conference focused on the business strategies essential to combat the future challenges and new ideas at international level, apart from  providing platform to discuss the latest and innovative concepts in the field of Marketing, HR and Finance.

Dr. Elizabeth Verghese, Chairperson, Hindustan Group of Institutions in her presidential address said “Educational institutions should look beyond delivery of subjects and provide a platform for students to equip themselves with knowledge within and outside the domain of their interest”

Mr. Vikram Cotah, Senior Vice President, Radisson Hotels & Resorts said “Successful companies today were able to sense the evolving paradigm shift in consumer minds even in difficult times and changing economic scenario”.

Drawing reference to Biomimicry, he cited examples of how nature can be a great source of inspiration for some great ideas. He made an analogy of how a paint company successfully adapted the micro surface technique in a lotus leaf to come up with the idea of paint that can resist dust and moisture. Another example was of how the cooling effects of a termite den were used as an inspiration to creating energy efficient building.

Delivering the inaugural address, Dr. Annie Merril Ingram, Prof, Davidson College, North Carolian, USA said “Unlike CSR which retroactively address issues, Sustainability implies forward trajectory”. She further added how the triple bottom line of sustainability (Profit, People and Planet) can be integrated into long term strategies, goals and measures for positive social change and business success. “Profit alone cannot be sustained in the long term and there should be a balance drive for success with care for human and nature capital”

A souvenir with a compilation of research papers on Marketing, Human Resource Management and Finance was released on the occasion.
