The Naga Students' Union,Delhi (NSUD) is organizing the 49th NSUD Nyte on October 13, 2012, at Mavalankar Hall, Rafi Marg. The programme -- essentially a Fresher's welcome for the new entrants -- is geared toward promoting and celebrating, as the press statement puts it, "the distinct and rich cultures of the Nagas."

Luizinho Falerio, member, Congress Working Committee, will be the chief guest and Prof. G.K.Chadha, president, South Asian University, will be the guest of honour. "Through this programme ,the executives of the Naga Students' Union, Delhi (NSUD) also aim to convey a message of oneness among all groups of people and also to protect our rich culture rather than being influence by other cultures. We also aim to encourage all students -- considered the leaders of tommorow -- to learn and treasure our distinct culture. In this event,we also acknowledged the 'freshers'. We also aim to provide plateform for young Naga talents to showcase their worth," says the press note.

Earlier, members of parliment from the North Eastern states had organized a fresher party for the first years at the Meghalaya house and later, on September 26, students from those states studying at Delhi University conducted a special orientation programme for the new-comers with the support of the dean of students' welfare.
