CBSE to bring out special question papers for visually challenged

In an effort to encourage visually impaired students to opt for science stream at the senior secondary level, the Central Board of Secondary Education has decided to bring out special question papers in Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Mathematics.

This new initiative will come into effect for class XI students from March 2012 board examinations, while for class XII students, it will be implemented with effect from the year 2013.

In a circular dated, December 23, 2012, the board instructed all schools to inform about the scheme to everyone concerned. It also mentioned in the circular that under the new scheme, visually impaired students are not required to appear for practical exams.
