It was almost a foregone conclusion that Farook College students would walk away with the trophies at the B Zone Art festival, held at Government College, Madappally for the colleges of Kozhikode and Wayanad. Farook College emerged winners at the fest for the seventh consecutive year.

M. Saranya, who won Kalathilakam title, had this to say about how the college bring s out the best in artistes like her. “It is all possible because of the support and help from the college. The guidance and support helped us to grab the title,” said Saranya, who won first prize for Mohiniyattam and third prize in Bharatanatyam and Folk Dance.

The Farook College scored 177 points to lift the trophy. Students as well as teachers are excited about the triumph. “We guided the students but it was their wholehearted endeavour that was behind the success,” said Mamooty, a faculty member.

“The college provides a wide platform for its students to nurture their talents. The college has excellent training facilities to help students perform at their best in these fests,” he added.

“Our college has appointed many trainers, who are identified towards the beginning of the academic year. They train our children for months,” said Sajth, another teacher.

Farook College grabbed the Kalathilakam (for girls) and Kalaprathibha (for boys). Abinav K.P, a first year student of BBA, got first prize in all the items he took part in namely Kathaprasangam, Mono Act, Mimicry and Bharathanatyam.
