Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan to start scholarship scheme

Chennai: The Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan will institute a scholarship scheme for students, an art gallery and a school in Tiruporur as part of its golden jubilee celebration.

This was disclosed by Sugalchand Jain, vice-chairman of the Bhavan’s Chennai Kendra, and said the school would follow the stream of Central Board of Secondary Education.

Releasing a Tamil publication on Sardar Patel at special function, B.N SriKrishan, Vice-president the Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan disclosed various social and community utility activities in Tiruporur.

Referring to various other activities planned by the organisation, Mr.Jain said a campaign to popularise Sanskrit language.

It had also proposed to install the bust of Bhavan's founder K.M. Munshi at the Chennai Kendra office in Mylapore and Rajaji's bust at Rajaji Vidyashram in Kilpauk.
Steps would be taken for the release of postal cover, he said, releasing the Bhavan’s Golden Jubilee Year report.

Mrs.Y.G.Parthasarathy, Dean and director, PSBB group of schools, said that Bhavan should start a Yuva Kendra to enroll more youngsters and infuse the spirit of nationalism, value of integrity and the courage to fight against corruption.
 
L. Sabaretnam, acting Chairman, Bhavan’s Chennai Kendra, said that a cultural exchange complex was coming up on 55 acres land in Tiruporur.

The CBSE School would start functioning from the academic year 2010-2011.
