Gate Results Announced

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) examination of which the results were declared on Thursday witnessed State students walk away with two all India first ranks. The test consisted of 21 papers.

Kande Rakesh got the first rank in the Electronics and Communication Engineering stream scoring 67 out of 100 marks. A student of MVSR College of Engineering, Rakesh wants to do his M.Tech in India rather than going abroad for higher studies.

Atul Kumar, a student of College of Agriculture Engineering, ANGRAU, Bapatla, scored the first rank in Agriculture Engineering stream. He originally hails from Bihar but doing his course from ANGRAU. Sujit, who hails from Kerala but took coaching from Ace Academy in Hyderabad, secured first rank in Instrumentation Engineering branch, according to Y.V. Gopalakrishna, Director, Ace Academy.

According to Aditya Reddy of GateForum, cut-off marks in the general stream for all the courses are as follows - Computer Science and Engineering (31.54), Electronics and Communications Engineering (25), Electrical Engineering (25), Mechanical Engineering (27.14), Instrumentation Engineering (25), Civil Engineering (33.03), Chemical Engineering (29.38) and Bio Technology (35.47). He said 56 students from GateForum made it to the top 100 list this year including 9 out of top 10 ranks in different streams.

He said Aniket Singha secured second rank in Electronics and Communication while Suprovat Ghoshal secured third rank in Computer Science and Surabhi Punjabi secured fourth rank in Computer Science. Mr. Gopalakrishna said four students from Ace secured positions in top 10 ranks in different streams.

Qualifying in the GATE makes students eligible to apply for M.Tech courses in IITs, NITs, II.Sc and other top engineering colleges in the country.

All the GATE qualified candidates are automatically eligible for handsome monthly scholarships.
