57th National School Games thrown open

The six-day long 57th National School Games was thrown open in the winter capital here today, in which participants from 19 states are taking part.
    
"We welcome the players of 19 states in Jammu for the National School Games today. The 57th National School Games have been thrown open from today," Minister for Youth Services and Sports, R S Chib said while inaugurating the Games at the M A Studium here.
    
"I wish the players best of luck," he said, adding that two championships cricket under 19 (girls) and Wushu under 19 (boys and girls) are being organised as a part of the event by the department of Youth Services and Sports.
 
Participants from 19 states and union territories are expected to take part, he said. The competitions will be held at MA Stadium, Jammu University, Sainik Colony, Play Ground Arnia and Indoor stadium complex.
    
Chib told concerned officials to ensure that all necessary facilities are provided to players for successful conduct of the event.
