IAS: Preliminary Exam Results declared

300The results for preliminary IAS exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has been declared. The IAS aspirants can check the exam results on the official website.

How to check the preliminary IAS exam results:

Go to the official website, the link for which is: http://www.upsc.gov.in/;

Click on the tab 'Written Results- Civil Services Preliminary Exam - 2015';

The preliminary IAS exam results will be displayed on the monitor screens. The aspirants can take a print out of the same for future use.

The preliminary IAS exam was held on August 23 at 71 centres across the nation. Over 4.50 lakh aspirants had taken the test at 2,186 venues. The aspirants who have qualified this exam and have been found eligible shall have to appear for the (Mains) exam and a personality test/interview round. The UPSC IAS (mains) exam is scheduled to take place in the month of December.

The aspirants who get shortlisted in the final round will be admitted to IAS or IPS/ IFS/ IES/ ISS, depending upon their ranks.

The exam was held in two parts: Paper I (General Studies) and Paper II (CSAT/Aptitude Test). Part I of the paper began at 9:30 am whereas, Part II commenced at 2:30 pm. Each paper carried 200 marks.

The candidates who do not qualify this year need not worry as the general category candidates can attempt the paper for six times. The candidates belonging to OBC category can attempt the paper for 9 times and those belonging to SC/ST category can sit for the exam for as many times as they wish to.
