Civil Services Exam: Age Relaxation Issue

Civil servicesTo discuss complex issues like eligibility for exam, age-relaxation, pattern of the paper and syllabus, a committee has been set up for discussing the selection-procedure of IAS and IPS officers through UPSC Examination.

"More number of issues regarding the scheme of Civil Services Exam(CSE) has been received by central government including for relaxation in maximum age limit and setting of question papers in the regional languages in the civil services (preliminary) exam for IAS and IPS UPSC examination" Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh told Rajya Sabha in a written reply.

An expert committee has also been set up to deeply examine various issues which have been raised based on syllabus, scheme, pattern and eligibility of CSE.

The civil services exams CSE is being conducted in three stages every year for IAS and IPS: preliminary, main and interview, in this process to select persons for prestigious Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS) among others. There are two compulsory papers: Paper I and Paper II in preliminary UPSC exam for IAS and IPS. Both the sections includes questions for 200 marks each.

The admit cards for the IAS Preliminary Exam 2015 is now available at the official website of UPSC. The students who registered for this UPSC exam can download the admit cards till August 23.
