Indian Engineering Service Examinations

The examinations with ends with services in India, are meant for commending and decision making positions. Indian civil service examinations conducted by union public service examinations include a number of examinations like Indian administrative service, Indian police service etc besides meant for some direct positions in variouscentral government departments. The under graduates in all disciplines in B.A, B.sc, B.com, B.E, B.Tech, MBBS etc can write this examinations now a days the professional graduates of engineering and medicine of the civil service examinations attracted towards the charm and adventure in the said positions.

In the some way then are many other examinations in Indian government like Indian economic service (IES), Indian statistical services (ISS), Indian engineering services (IES). while it is true that any graduates can write Indian civil service examinations, all basic graduate, can not write the basic graduate, can not write the examination in Indian economic services. Indian statistical services and Indian engineering service. Only BE & B.tech graduates can write Indian engineering services, economic graduates can write Indian economical services and statistics graduates can write Indian statistical services. These three examinations one also conducted by union public service commissions only. Generally, many students are under the impression that after BE they have to seek, job in the respective discipline. The prevailing unemployment crises are forcing them to try in entirely different fields like banking and other area. They are even prepared to accept a clerical force in a bank by accept a clerical force in a bank by passing IBPS examinations, of course, the related field like technical officers are available in banking section for engineering graduate, but, trying join as a clerk is something unnecessary for an engineering graduate. They may continue ME and also they can appear for IES examinations. In the some the UG and PG economics students can try to appear in Indian economic service examinations. Indian statistical services are the gift choices for statistics graduates. Just like civil service examination norms, even in the students can appear to these examinations also while they are doing their final year graduation. The age limit is from 21 years to 30 years in general. 5 years age relaxation is given for SC & St and 3 years UBS candidates.

The successful candidates from IES will be given top position in Indian Railway services (RS), Military Engineering service (MES), Indian telecom services, Indian naval armament services, Indian railway stores services, Indian ordinance factory services Indian supply service,central power engineering services, central public works departments etc. The students who appear for IES have to appear for IES have to appear in the main examinations straight away,but it is understandble that no need of writing preliminary examination, like Indian civil service examinations.

The syllabus of IES examination is as detailed below:

Part -I:     One section  - General knowledge, General English - MCQ TYPE

              Two section - Related engineering subjects  - MCQ - TYPE

                     Total Marks =   3 x 200   = 600

part - II   two papers  - related engineering  subjects   - descriptive

                    Total marks = 2 x 200  = 400 marks

The overall total marks is 1000 and the cut off is 200.

763 positions are vacant in IES  position. union public service commission released its advertisement for IES examinations and the candidates have to apply for the same. on or before 25.11.2013 in on line. The complete details are available in web site www.upsc.gov.in
