Updated on: Friday, December 20, 2013

A clear report was given in the work shop conducted by CIE. The International boards gave a huge shift towards school education members of international schools Association, invited William Bicerdike, The regional manager for CIE for South Asia and Madtav welling, pro vice chancellor. Norsee Monjee Institute of Management studies for the seminar. They offered the teachers and principals of the schools about the opportunities in India for Higher education. There was popular belief that the International Education are suitable only for these who wish to continue. Their studies in foreign countries. This was broken in this seminar.

It was pointed by welling that the parents have worries about the future of their words who are studying in schools of

IB (International Baccalaureate)

IGCSE (International General Certificate of secondary educate)

CIE (Cambridge International Examinations)

The parents raised various question whether the institutions are recognized by UGC, AICIE, PCE, CUA. Even the parents of the children who are studying with SSC, HSE schools of Tamil Nadu are under confusion. Because they read in the papers about the various procedure of National assessment and A accreditation (NAPC) or National boards of accreditation (NBA)

Welling explained about these bodies. He said that NAAC is an authority that gives international recognitions and NBA gives programme recognition while AIU decides the equivalence of level of educators of students coming from European Institutes for Higher Educations.

It is clear from the programme that students of international curriculum can take any programme from history, archeology, and heritage management, pharmacy mass media, marine engineering, IT etc.

But the students must get the eligibility certificate from the University for the program they like to continue. It is explained for example that a BSC student who like to study Mass Media has to get eligibility certificate for mass media only, not for BSA. The students are eligible only for the course, just mentioned in the eligibility certificate. Regarding the Higher education is concerned in India, the Institutions are approved by
