Un filled vacancies in IIT's

The Ideal teacher student ratio is the under of Indian Institute of Technologies.  But the IIT’s facing a severe shortage in faculty position.  The government fixed the teacher-student ratio in IIT should be 1 : 10, but this is the problem now.

6522 position in IIT are sanctioned so for throughout India and now 2618 are unfilled which accounts 40% shortage of teachers.  The student’s intake has risen by 54% since 2006. As a result the teacher student ration becomes 1 : 15.  In IIT Roorkee it is 1 : 20.  It is the best at the New institutes of IIT – Roopar and IIT Madras.  Where there is one teacher for every 2 students.
