First batch of the proposed IIIT-Rajasthan from the upcoming academic session

The proposed IIIT-Rajasthan will start functioning from a temporary premises in Jaipur-based Malvia National Institute of Technology (MNIT) from July.

The Indian Institute of Information Technology is to come up in Kota under PPP model with an estimated cost of Rs 128 crore for which 10-acre land has been allotted near Ranpur Industrial area.

The state principal secretary (technical education) Rajiv Swaroop said the government intends to start the first batch of the proposed IIIT from the upcoming academic session at a temporary premises in MNIT.

IIIT-R will be the country's first such institute to be set up on PPP model. Fifty per cent of the expenditure for the institute would be contributed by the Centre, 35 per cent by the Rajasthan government and 15 per cent by the companies in partnership.
