The placements office at IIM-Kozhikode announced the closure of the placement season 2013 last week. The final and lateral placements processes for PGP-15 batch have been completed with successful placement for everyone participating in the process.

Though the placement scenario is not rosy across the campuses, with several of the regular recruiters picking fewer students than usual, the institute was able to invite and bring several new names that are revered in the industry on the Kozhikode campus. The institute managed to do so with the support from the institute's members and the efforts of the placement team.

Prof Kulbhushan Balooni, Chairperson - Placements, said, "I would like to put on record our gratitude to the alumni who came out in large numbers to recruit from Kozhikode. It is an honor to report that a significant number of students would be joining companies, such as EduRaft, Vista Mind, Sugee Group, V2 Solutions & CampHire, started or being run by our very own students."

While finance and sales and marketing continued to be the favourite on the campus, this year witnessed several key roles being offered to the students in other verticals as well. Students looking at general management roles cashed in this year with Cipla and Bosch picking several students for their leadership roles. In the consulting sector, top recruiters include McKinsey, Deloitte, KPMG, Cognizant Business Consulting, IBM Consulting and Wipro Consulting Services.

This year, the placements season also saw active participation from several of the mid-cap and small-cap companies, with students taking greater interest in exploring opportunities with such organizations offering challenging roles.
