Demand from TNPSC aspirants for increasing age limit

There is a demand from the youngsters who are preparing for Group I A Tamil Nadu Public service Commission to raise the age limit to 40. As such, the age limit is 30 for General candidates and for others 35. The representations to raise the age limit are given by the federation of candidates who are appearing for Group I, TNPSC examinations. Group I examinations are meant for the positions Deputy Collector (RDO), superintendent of police, Assistant Director for Rural Development, Commissioner for commercial tax, Deputy Registrar for co-operator societies, District Registrar, and Fire service officials.

It the age limit is raised, it is believed that around 3-5 lacs candidates benefited.

It is pointed out that the state which has the best library standard, Kerala, has the upper age limit as 45. The statistics at this context, reveals that the upper age limit in Gujarat 45, Kerala 45, AP 40, Haryana 45, west Bengal 45, Assam 45, Tripura 45, Jharkhand 45 and Bihar 45. So the federation request Tamil Nadu Government and Hon Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu to increase the upper age limit for Group – I, TGNSPC examination
