Cutoff for admission to professional courses in the state is likely to be slightly lower than the previous year

Although, overall pass percent in TN plus two results witnessed a marginal increase of 2%, with lesser centums, the cutoff for admission to professional courses in the state is likely to be slightly lower than the previous year.

Tamil Nadu Plus two results have been released, showing a marginal increase of 2% in the total pass percent.

Totally, 7,99, 513 students appeared through schools for the plus two common exams that were held in the months of March-April, 2013.

According to the recently released result, with a total pass percent of 88.1%, totally 7,04,125 school students have cleared the common exam. Pass percent among the boys stood at 84.7 and the girls stood at 91%.

Centums in Physics showed drastic plunge of 106 with only 36 students securing this year as against 142 students in the preceding year. Centums in Zoology also showed a backward trend with no one scoring as against 4 in the last year. However, science subjects like Chemistry, Biology and Botany showed only a marginal raise in the number of centums.

Other subjects like Computer science and Commerce showed a reasonable increase in the number of centums. But, subjects like Mathematics, Accountancy and Business Mathematics showed downward trend in the number of centums scored.

With not much increase in centums in the science subjects and decrease in the number centums in key subject, Mathematics is likely to bring down the cutoff this year marginally than the previous year for both Engineering as well as Medical admissions.
