Advanced placement tests

Updated on: Tuesday, January 31, 2012

The United States-India Educational Foundation (USIEF), a Department of State-affiliated Education USA center, will administer the advanced placement (AP) tests commencing on May 7.

In the past, there has been a substantial demand for the AP tests, but the facility was not available to students in Delhi. Considerable time, effort and money can be saved as these tests are now offered by USIEF at New Delhi.

The advantages of taking the AP tests are many. Subject to good scores, students can earn course credits well in advance at colleges in the US and 60 other countries. Students gain advanced knowledge of a field before formal study at a college or university. They also improve their writing skills, sharpen their problem solving skills, and develop better study habits. AP tests offer real college conditioning through exposure to advanced courses and higher-level tests in a university setting. Students who score a three or higher on an AP exam typically earn higher GPAs in college than their non-AP student peers.

Almost all the AP tests will be administered at USIEF. Students interested in appearing for the same should register at the USIEF office before March 30. For more information and registration, contact Zafeena Suresh or Rupali Verma at [email protected]
