Oaktree International School, a flagship initiative of Educo Ventures, located 15 kilometres away from the heart of south Kolkata will soon open admissions for grades 6-11 for the academic year 2011-12. The school aims to be one of the premier education institutes offering International Baccalaureate(IB). Equipped with the latest facilities, the school is set to follow an international educational pattern. A candidate for the IB Diploma Programme(Grades 11 & 12), it is also seeking authorization to teach the IB Middle Years(MYP, Grades 6-8). Applications have also been made to the Cambridge International Examinations for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education(IGCSE, Grades 9 and 10) for approval as a centre to teach the IGCSE programme.

Spread across 30 acres, the campus will house a performing arts centre, amphitheatre, indoor and outdoor sports ground, as well as a plethora of other facilities for co-curricular activities. The school has plans to invite international guest lecturers and encourage student exchange programs.

Paul Regan, founding head of the school says, “Everything has a season and the time has now come for a school with attributes as unique as Oaktree International School to open in Kolkata.  Its inauguration in 2011, for which so much preparation is being invested, will be a clear statement that a school can be outstanding from the outset, can attract the finest and most experienced faculty, and can be a beacon and example for institutional reconstruction in the education sector of West Bengal.”
