Cooperation betwen states and centre must for RTE Act: PM

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh called for cooperation between the states and the central government for implementing the Right to Education  (RTE) Act, which provides for free and compulsory education to children aged 6-14.

Singh said, "Working together with the states, the Center will make full efforts to implement the Right to Education Act. Today almost every child in our country has reach to elementary education, now we want to give special attention to secondary education."

Manmohan Singh also said that bills for creation of national council for education and innovation universities will soon be brought in the parliament."We will bring a bill for creation of the national council for education and innovation universities," he added.
