State to protest education policy with private participation

Kerala Education Minister M A Baby today said government will strongly protest the Centre's education policy "to be implemented with the participation of  private sector."
 
Speaking at the third state meet of Kerala Non-teaching Employees Organisation here, Baby said instead the government will put forward an alternative scheme with participation of institutions like IHRD and from the co-operative sector.
 
He said the government has decided to appoint relatives of dependents in the aided educational institutions. A final decision to this effect will be taken in the coming assembly session.
 
He assured the employees that the teaching and non-teaching staff, appointed on a temporary basis after 1998, will be made permanent.
