Fest fervour

Oxford High School, Howrah celebrated its 18th Oxford Utsav ’10 with great pomp and gaiety. A cultural function and prize distribution ceremony was held on Dec 1 at Sarat Sadan. Students from both the primary and secondary section kept the spirits high with their active participation in various events.

 

The Annual function started with Nadabramha meditation. Eminent dignitaries like Mamata Jaiswal, mayor of Howrah Municipal Corporation, Arup Roy, MLA, Central Howrah, DK Roy, DSP(HQ), Howrah graced the programme. All of them applauded the students for their enterprise and enthusiasm.

 

Addressing the gathering, school principal SC Dubey congratulated one and all for making the event a grand success. This was followed by the prize distribution ceremony. Adrija Ghosh, a class I student and Priya Jain of class X walked away with the “The Best Student Award” for their overall performance. Pratim Banerjee and Priyanka Khote from the nursery section clinched the “The Best Performer Award”. From the senior section, Naina Mehta, Sweta Gupta, Rameez Khan of class VII and Aman Shaw of class VIII bagged the best performers award.

 

Flying without wings, a dance performance put up by students from the nursery section was greeted with a thunderous applause.

 

The programme concluded with the vote of thanks given by the Vice Principal, A Ganguly. The whole school then stood up to sing the National Anthem.
