BARC invites applications for orientation course and fellowship scheme

The Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) invites applications from engineering graduates and science post-graduates for the following courses:

1. One-year Orientation Course for Engineering Graduates and Science Post-graduates for the academic session 2011-2012 (OCES-2011) conducted by the BARC training schools.

2. Two-year Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) Graduate Fellowship Scheme for Engineering Graduates and Physics Postgraduates for the academic session 2011-2012 (DGFS-2011).

The age limits for applying to the courses is 26 years for general category, 29 years for OBC category and 31 years for SC/ST. The applicant must also be an Indian national to be eligible for the programme.

A non-refundable application-processing fee of Rs.250 will be charged from applicants in general and OBC categories. Women candidates, candidates belonging to SC/ST, dependents of defense personnel killed in action and physically challenged candidates are exempted from payment of application fee.

Candidates can submit the application forms either online or by post.

If applying online, the candidate, after making the payment, will get a Unique Transaction Number which they will be required to enter as response to the relevant query in the online application form.

To send the application form via post, candidates are required to make two photocopies on A4 size paper of the accompanying format as application form. No separate application form is issued. The portion of the challan marked "Institution Copy" should be mailed along with the application.

The last date for the sale and submission of the application forms is on the basis of GATE score is March 25, 2011 for offline submission and March 31, 2011 for online application.

For candidates who are opting for written test in 7 engineering disciplines, the last date for submission of forms offline is March 18, 2011 and online is March 25, 2011.

The last date for submission of applications for those opting for written test in science disciplines offline and online is January 21, 2011.
