Ireland Varsity keen to have student exchange with Bangalore University

University of Dublin, Ireland, has shown keen interest to have collaborative programme involving student and Staff exchange with Bangalore University.

According to a release here today, a delegation of senior academicians led by University of Dublin Head Dr John Hegarty met Bangalore University Vice-Chancellor Dr N Prabhu Dev yesterday and expressed interest to have student and staff exchange in prioritised areas such as Biological Sciences, Nano-technology and areas that interface Science, Arts and Social Sciences.

Dr Dev, responding to the interest, suggested that areas of interaction would be fruitful in nano-technology, non-conventional energy, plant biology and ecology.

He also expressed interest in the possibilities of students from four year B S programme of Bangalore University getting an opportunity to study in Trinity College, particularly in the final year of their industry related research dissertation programmes.

Dr Dev also sought to explore possibilities of collaboration in the emerging areas of Socio-biology, Aging, South-Asian Cultural studies and also the interface between Science Arts and Social Sciences.

Dr John Hegarty assured to visit at least twice in the current academic year ending September 2011 and send a draft MoU for consideration of Bangalore University for implementation.
