With the perspective of acquiring industrial exposure, technical educational institutions should allow students to get institutional training right from second year onwards, Deputy CM Stalin said on Monday.

This system can be altered and students can be allowed to get exposure to industries from their second year. "More interaction between students and industries will help them understand each other better. For this, changes should be brought in the syllabus," he added.

Besides, presenting degrees to 400 Vels University students, Stalin also presented honorary doctorates to Baldev Raj, director, Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, N Ram, editor-in-chief, The Hindu, and K Srikanth, chairman, selection committee, Board of Control for Cricket in India.
